Shaw Prize Congratulations

October 30th, 2014, by Courtney Cummings

Established in 2004 to recognize the work of scientists active in the fields of Astronomy, Life Sciences/Medicine, and Mathematical Sciences, the Shaw Prize annually acknowledges scientists around the world making significant recent advances in their respective fields.

With the award carrying a purse of 1 million US dollars (100 million yen) in addition to the associated renown, being recognized by the Shaw Prize Foundation is quite an honor indeed.

This year, the Shaw Prize for Life Science and Medicine was awarded jointly to Kazutoshi Mori and Peter Walter for their work in discovering the unfolded protein response of the endoplasmic reticulum.

DMC wishes Professor Mori luck in his future endeavors and offers their congratulations once more on receiving this prestigious award.
